Calibrating Control Unit For Lane Change Assist

NOTE: Voltage drop
  • Risk of irreparable damage to control unit
  • Risk of damage to control unit
  • Fault entries in the control unit
  • Coding in the control unit is aborted
  • Malfunctions in control unit, even during programming

→ Prior to disconnecting the control unit, switch off ignition and remove ignition key.

→ Ensure that the power supply is not interrupted during programming.

→ Connect a battery charger with a current rating of at least → Nominal value: 40 A  to the vehicle battery.

Information 

The PIWIS Tester II 9818  instructions take precedence since the description may be different with later Tester releases.

MP 1 to 4  - Measuring points

X1  - Distance from calibration board to right reflector

X2  - Distance from calibration board to left reflector

- Height of camera from floor

- Calibration board height

  1. The following tools are required:
    1. 1.1. Calibration unit VAS 6350 WE 1368 
    2. 1.2. Spacing laser VAS 6350/2 WE 1369 
    3. 1.3. Calibration unit for Lane Change Assist VAS 6350/4 WE 1375 
  2. PIWIS Tester must be connected to the vehicle before starting it. Switch on ignition and press [F12] to continue.
  3. Select the vehicle type and start the diagnostic application.
  4. Select the Lane Change Assist  control unit in the overview  .
  5. Select Calibrate Lane Change Assist  .
  6. Follow instructions on the Tester.
  7. Calibration of the master and slave control unit for Lane Change Assist is menu-driven.
  8. Read the information displayed on the Tester and proceed according to instructions.
  9. Once you have calibrated Lane Change Assist, carry out a test drive and check the Lane Change Assist function.
  10. After the test, read out the fault memory and erase it if necessary.
