Removing Control Unit For Steering Wheel Electronics

WARNING: Airbag contact unit not set correctly

Malfunction in driver's airbag unit

→ When removing and installing the steering column switch, turn the steering wheel so that the wheels are in straight-ahead position. This ensures that the airbag contact unit is locked in the central position.

→ Do not trap the cable of the airbag contact unit.

→ Check that the cable is routed correctly.

Release electric plug connections -1- and disconnect them from the steering wheel electronics control unit -2- .
Unscrew fastening screw -3- .

Carefully disengage locking mechanisms -1- on the steering wheel electronics control unit -2- and remove steering wheel electronics control unit from the steering-column switch -3- .
