Installing Dashboard Bracket

Information 

Due to the large number of cable attachments, not all cable attachments can be described and illustrated.

Information 

When positioning the dashboard support, make sure that wires or plug connections are not jammed.

Information 

Before securing the dashboard support, make sure that all lines and plug connections are routed correctly.

1. Get another mechanic to help you position the dashboard bracket in such a way that the wire harnesses can be clipped in.
2. Install dashboard bracket.
   1. 2.1. Tighten two fastening nuts at the left used to secure the dashboard bracket to the body -3-  to Tightening torque 20 Nm (15 ftlb.)  .

   2. 2.2. Tighten one fastening nut -3-  at the right used to secure the dashboard bracket to the body to Tightening torque 20 Nm (15 ftlb.)  .

   3. 2.3. Tighten four fastening screws on the center tunnel -2-  to Tightening torque 20 Nm (15 ftlb.)  .

   4. 2.4. Tighten fastening screw used to secure engine compartment to dashboard bracket -arrow-  to Tightening torque 20 Nm (15 ftlb.)  .

   5. 2.5. Tighten fastening screw under the main cable duct -arrow-  to Tightening torque 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)  .

   6. 2.6. Tighten fastening screw used to secure the dashboard bracket to the plenum panel -arrow-  to Tightening torque 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)  .

3. Clip in main cable duct at the heater/air-conditioning unit -arrow-  .

4. Clip in wire harness along the dashboard bracket -arrows-  .

5. Secure wire harness on the dashboard bracket with new tie-wraps -arrows-  .

6. Connect ground cable to ground pin.
7. Attach ground cable to the stud and screw on fastening nut on driver's side -arrow-  .

8. Attach ground cable to the stud and screw on fastening nut on passenger's side -arrow-  .

9. Plug in and lock electric plug connection on headlight control unit. → INSTALLING HEADLIGHT CONTROL UNIT
10. Plug in and lock electric plug connection for KESSY antenna. → INSTALLING KESSY ANTENNA
11. Plug in and lock four electric plug connections for the front-end electronics control unit. → INSTALLING CONTROL UNIT FOR FRONT-END ELECTRONICS
12. Plug in and lock electric plug connection for voltage transformer for Start/Stop. → INSTALLING VOLTAGE CONVERTER FOR START/STOP
13. Position fuse box at the left and right and secure with the two fastening screws -1-  .
