Removing Rear Side Section (Roof Removed)

Mark cuts in accordance with the new part. Make sure to leave an overlap of approx. 3 cm with respect to the body.

Information 

Only make cuts in the top plate. Make sure not to damage the plate underneath when doing this.

  1. Mark and make cuts in rear side section.

  2. Loosen welded joints.

    Information 

    Drill out spotweld A  through two plate thicknesses.

    1. 2.1. Drill out spotwelds using Spotweld Drill  .
    2. 2.2. Grind down laser-welded seams.
  3. Loosen welded joints.

    1. 3.1. Drill out spotwelds.
    2. 3.2. Grind down MIG seams.
  4. Grind down the spotwelds.

  5. Grind down MIG seams.

  6. Loosen rear transverse roof struts and support against lowering.
  7. Loosen welded joints.

    1. 7.1. Drill out spotwelds.
    2. 7.2. Grind down MIG seams.
  8. Heat up connection areas using a hot-air gun.

  9. Remove rear side section.
