Installing Rear Side Member

- Fit and secure rear side member.
- Spot-weld rear side member using inert gas.
- Apply adhesive.
- 4.1. Evenly apply adhesive to the marked areas.
- Weld in center floor section.
- 5.1. Resistance spot-weld center floor section.
- 5.2. Plug-weld center floor section in the area -A- using inert gas.
- 5.3. Spot-weld center floor section in the area -B- using inert gas.
- 5.4. Slot-weld center floor section in the area -C- using inert gas.
- 5.5. Apply a full weld to center floor section using inert gas.
Information
When welding slots, make sure that both edges of the slot are welded through.

- Install (inner) rear wheel housing. → 536855 REPLACING (INNER) REAR WHEEL HOUSING - section on "Installing"
- Install D-pillar reinforcement (section). → 533055 REPLACING REINFORCEMENT FOR D-PILLAR (SECTION) - chapter on "Installing"
- Fill rear side member with foam.
- 19.1. Fill rear side member with foam through the opening in the side member, in marked area -A- . → 5X00IN PROCESSING BODY FOAM FILLER
