Preparing Rear Side Member For Installation

  1. Prepare rear side member and clean welding and sealing areas.
    1. 1.1. Grind both sides of the connecting flanges on the rear side member in the marked areas until bare.

  2. Prepare floor section and clean welding and sealing areas.
    1. 2.1. Grind the connecting flanges of the floor section in the marked areas until bare.

    2. 2.2. Punch 7-mm holes in the fastening flanges of the floor section using a hole punch (area -A-  ). Maintain spacing as on the old part.
    3. 2.3. Drill 7-mm holes in the fastening flanges of the floor section (area -B-  ). Maintain spacing as on the old part.

    Information 

    Do not apply zinc powder paint to the bonding areas.

  3. Coat all spot-weld flange areas with zinc powder paint.
