Subsequent Work

  1. Apply the basic setting for the brake shoes and calibrate actuators for the electric parking brake. → 468316 ADJUSTING AND CALIBRATING PARKING-BRAKE SHOES
  2. Connect the level sensor to the front upper wishbone. → 431955 REPLACING REAR LEVEL SENSOR

    Make sure that the level sensor linkage is facing outwards.

  3. Fit wheel. → 440519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING WHEEL
  4. Tighten axle nut (drive shaft mounting on wheel side) (Step  2!). Operate the brake while doing this (2 mechanics required). Tightening torque 460 Nm (340 ftlb.)
  5. For vehicles with air suspension: 

    Fill the air springs. → 4301IN BLEEDING AND FILLING THE LEVELLING SYSTEM

  6. Perform suspension alignment. → Suspension alignment, complete
