Disassembling Drive Shaft: Disassembly

→ Secure components to prevent them from falling down.

The joint on the transmission side and the joint on the wheel side of the rear axle can be replaced. The entire drive shaft must be replaced if the profile shaft is defective.

Inner joint (transmission side)

Remove circlip (on transmission side) using circlip pliers Nr.68 .
Information

Before removing the bellows, mark the position of the bellows on the drive shaft with a colored pen (see also >>ASSEMBLING DRIVE SHAFT , Step 4.1<<).
Remove the bellows from the inner joint and slide it back.

Clamp the drive shaft (use aluminum protective jaws). Fit an aluminum mandrel on the ball hub (star-shaped inner ring) -arrow- and remove the joint pin (inner joint) by hitting it several times with a hammer. → Removing joint (on transmission side)

Remove hose clamps and bellows and take them off the profile shaft.
Outer joint (on wheel side)
