Installing Lower Trailing Arm

Information 

• All screws and threaded joints on the axle must be tightened in vehicle position. Vehicle position means: vehicle standing on its wheels or the wheel suspension is raised with a universal vehicle lift. Measurement -1- from the lower edge of the wing to the middle of the vehicle axle corresponds to vehicle position. The current height values can be found in →  4495TW ADJUSTMENT VALUES FOR SUSPENSION ALIGNMENT  . Always observe the following points!

• On vehicles with air springs, the respective air spring must be bled using the Porsche System Tester  . → 4301IN BLEEDING AND FILLING THE LEVELLING SYSTEM
• Screws and nuts are Geomet-coated and must not be greased  .

1. Insert the lower trailing arm into the mountings.
2. Insert and fit the front fastening screw -1-  into the rear axle housing -3-  and trailing arm -2-  . Tightening torque 150 Nm (111 ftlb.) +90 angular degrees

3. Insert the eccentric screw -1-  for the trailing arm -2-  into the rear axle housing -3-  . Tightening torque 170 Nm (126 ftlb.)

4. When inserting the eccentric screw -1-  , make sure that the markings -A-  on the rear axle carrier -2-  and eccentric screw are aligned.

5. Fit eccentric screw.
6. Insert and fit the fastening screw -1-  used to secure the trailing arm -2-  to the wheel bearing housing -3-  . Tightening torque 150 Nm (111 ftlb.) +90 angular degrees
