Replacing Rear Axle Housing

Removal: 

  1. Remove wheel bearing housing from the rear axle housing. → 425219 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR WHEEL BEARING HOUSING (WHEEL CARRIER) 
  2. Remove lower trailing arm at the rear axle housing. → 421119 REMOVING AND INSTALLING LOWER TRAILING ARM 
  3. Remove rear level sensors from the rear axle housing. → 431955 REPLACING REAR LEVEL SENSOR
  4. Remove rear tie rod from the rear axle housing. → 420919 REMOVING AND INSTALLING TIE ROD (TOE CONTROL ARM) 
  5. Remove anti-roll bar from the rear axle housing. → 429019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING ANTI-ROLL BAR  , → 429019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR ANTI-ROLL BAR (PDCC) 
  6. Remove rear final drive from the rear axle housing. → 390119 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR FINAL DRIVE
  7. Vehicles with PDCC: 

    Unclip rear PDCC lines from the brackets. → 429019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR ANTI-ROLL BAR (PDCC) 

  8. Vehicles with PDCC: 

    Unclip front PDCC lines -1-  from the bracket -2-  .

  9. Vehicles with PDCC: 

    Remove valve block from the rear axle housing. → 430419 REMOVING AND INSTALLING VALVE BLOCK

    Assembly: 

  10. Vehicles with PDCC: 

    Fit valve block on the rear axle housing. → Removing Rear-Axle Valve Block

  11. Vehicles with PDCC: 

    Clip front PDCC lines -1-  into the bracket -2-  .

  12. Vehicles with PDCC: 

    Clip rear PDCC lines into the brackets. → Installing Rear Anti-Roll Bar (PDCC) 

  13. Fit rear final drive on the rear axle housing. → Installing Rear Final Drive
  14. Fit anti-roll bar on the rear axle housing. → 429019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING ANTI-ROLL BAR  , → Installing Rear Anti-Roll Bar (PDCC) 
  15. Fit rear tie rod on the rear axle housing. → 420919 REMOVING AND INSTALLING TIE ROD (TOE CONTROL ARM) 
  16. Fit rear level sensors on the rear axle housing. → 431955 REPLACING REAR LEVEL SENSOR
  17. Fit lower trailing arm at the rear axle housing. → 421119 REMOVING AND INSTALLING LOWER TRAILING ARM 
  18. Fit wheel bearing housing on the rear axle housing. → Installing Rear Wheel Bearing Housing (Wheel Carrier)
