Removing Drive Head

  1. Unscrew screws -arrows-  .

  2. To avoid loosening the bearing cover -1-  and having to seal it again, do not remove the drive head -2-  using a hammer but only using expanding pliers -arrows-  as shown below.

  3. Carefully press the drive head off the bearing cover and remove it.

    Remove decoupling spring.

  4. Using Used Oil Collection And Extraction Unit VAG 1782 WE 1385  , extract all the oil for the compressor drive from the bearing cover and from oil pockets -arrows-  between the ribs.
