Installing Cylinder Head Cover For Cylinders 4 - 6

Information 

Replace sealing rings, seals and O-rings.

Information 

Attach all tie-wraps at the same places during installation.

Information 

  1. Install cylinder head cover.
    1. 1.1. Insert cam follower -6-  for high-pressure pump into the cylinder head cover.

    Information 

    • Replace aluminum screws  .
    • Always observe specified tightening sequence  .
  2. Tighten fastening screws -1 to 14 -  on the cylinder head cover one after the other (depending on version: see TECHNICAL VALUES ).

    Information 

    • Fuel lines must not be bent  .
    • Bent fuel lines must be replaced  .
  3. Position high-pressure line -5-  .
  4. Tighten union nut securing high-pressure line -5-  to fuel collection pipe. Initial Tightening 20 Nm (15 ft. lb.) Final Tightening +35 Nm (+26 ft. lb.)

  5. Position B+ wiring harness -3-  .
  6. Tighten fastening screws -1-  and -2-  . Tightening Torque 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.)
