Installing Cylinder Head Cover For Cylinders 1 - 3

Replace sealing rings, seals and O-rings.

Attach all tie-wraps at the same places during installation.

Information

For better access in the engine compartment, use support 9866 .
Fit support -1- instead of torque support .
The engine can be moved by turning the hexagon (a/f 17) to the left or right -arrows- .

Install cylinder head cover.
1. 1.1. Insert cam follower -6- for high-pressure pump into the cylinder head cover.

Information
- Replace aluminum screws .
- Always observe specified tightening sequence .
Tighten fastening screws -1 to 14 - on the cylinder head cover one after the other (depending on version: see TECHNICAL VALUES ).

Information
- Fuel lines must not be bent .
- Bent fuel lines must be replaced .
Position high-pressure line -1- .
Tighten union nut for high-pressure line -1- using a suitable torque wrench, Adapter Nr. 98-1 Pos. 2 and Open-Jawed Wrench Insert Nr. 95 Pos. 2 . Initial Tightening 20 Nm (15 ft. lb.) Final Tightening +35 Nm (+26 ft. lb.)
