Removing Drive Chain For Auxiliary Drives

→ Mark running direction of timing chains.

1. Fit Special Wrench T40049  at the rear of the crankshaft with two screws -arrows-  .
   1. 1.1. When screwing on the Special Wrench -T40049-  , only use screws with a thread length -a-  of max. 22 mm  .

2. Unscrew screw plug -arrow-  for the "TDC" mark on the crankshaft from the cylinder block.

   Turn crankshaft to "TDC" in direction of rotation of the engine.

3. Using Adapter -T40058-  and an angled ring wrench, turn the crankshaft to "TDC" in direction of rotation of the engine.

   Only Turn The Crankshaft In Direction Of Rotation Of The Engine -Arrow-!

4. The notch -A-  must be aligned with the joint -arrow-  .

5. Locking Pin T40069  must be screwed into the bore hole and tightened to → Tightening Torque: 25 Nm (19 ft. lb.)  . Turn the crankshaft -1-  back and forth slightly if necessary in order to center the locking pin fully.

6. Remove chain and chain tensioner.
   1. 6.1. Press the guide rail for the chain tensioner in -direction of arrow-  and lock the chain tensioner in place with the Locking Pin -T40071-  .
   2. 6.2. Unscrew screws -3-  and remove the balance shaft sprocket.
   3. 6.3. Unscrew screws -1-  and -2-  and remove the chain tensioner and chain.
