Installing Drive Chain For Auxiliary Drives

1. Crankshaft -1-  secured in "TDC" position with Locking Pin T40069  .

   NOTE: Timing chain running direction not maintained

   • Risk of damage to sprockets

   → Mark running direction of timing chains.

2. Fit chain tensioner with chain and balance shaft sprocket.
   1. 2.1. Lock balance shaft in "TDC" position with Locating Pin T40116  .
   2. 2.2. The slots in the balance shaft sprocket must be centered with respect to the threaded bores on the balance shaft. Move the chain by one tooth if necessary.
   3. 2.3. Tighten chain tensioner screws.
   4. 2.4. Screw sprocket screws -1-  in loosely.

3. It should still be possible to turn the sprocket on the balance shaft without tilting.
4. Remove locking pin T40071 to release the chain tensioner.
5. Press against the guide rail for the chain tensioner using a screwdriver -arrow-  and tighten the screws for the sprocket at the same time.

   Pull Locating Pin -T40116-  out of the balance shaft.

6. Fit screw plug for "TDC" mark on the crankshaft.
7. Further installation is performed in reverse order.
