Removing Timing-Case Cover

NOTE: Timing-case cover removed incorrectly
  • Risk of damage to seal between oil pan and crankcase
  • Risk of engine leaks

→ Always reseal the oil pan when removing the timing-case cover.

  1. Remove deflection rollers -1, 4-  and belt tensioner -2-  .
    1. 1.1. Lever off the deflection roller covers.
    2. 1.2. Unscrew the belt tensioner screws -3-  and the deflection roller screws.
    3. 1.3. Remove belt tensioner and deflection rollers.

  2. Disconnect positive crankcase vent lines from the holders.
  3. Disconnect cable duct -1-  from the timing-case cover.
    1. 3.1. Remove screw -2-  .

  4. Remove timing-case cover.
    1. 4.1. Loosen screws in the sequence -30 - 1-  .
    2. 4.2. Remove screws -1 - 30-  .
    3. 4.3. Carefully lift off the timing-case cover. Lever off if necessary.
