Removing (Main) Catalytic Converter

  • Risk of burns

→ Let hot components cool down.

→ Wear personal protective gear.

Information 

  1. Loosen fastening nuts -8-  on the exhaust clamp (clamping sleeve) -3-  between the catalytic converter and exhaust system. Slide exhaust clamp onto the exhaust system. The exhaust clamp must not be re-used.

  2. Unscrew fastening screw -5-  on bracket for transmission -4-  .

  3. Screw off three fastening nuts -2-  on the connection between the main catalytic converter -1-  and primary catalytic converter -6-  . The fastening nuts must not be re-used.

  4. Remove main catalytic converter by pulling it forward.
  5. Remove seal between main catalytic converter and primary catalytic converter. The seal must always be replaced.
