Removing (Main) Catalytic Converter

Information
- Some of the repair illustrations show only one side of the vehicle .
- Naturally, some steps also have to be performed on the opposite side of the vehicle as well .
- Loosen fastening nuts -8- on the exhaust clamp (clamping sleeve) -3- between the catalytic converter and exhaust system. Slide exhaust clamp onto the exhaust system. The exhaust clamp must not be re-used.
- Unscrew fastening screw -5- on bracket for transmission -4- .
- Screw off three fastening nuts -2- on the connection between the main catalytic converter -1- and primary catalytic converter -6- . The fastening nuts must not be re-used.
- Remove main catalytic converter by pulling it forward.
- Remove seal between main catalytic converter and primary catalytic converter. The seal must always be replaced.
