Replacing Wire Harness In Engine Compartment At The Left

  1. Ground Point On Wheel Housing
  2. Connector For Front Wire Harness
  3. Connector For ABS Wire Harness
  4. Connector For Level Sensor
  5. Connector For Tyre Pressure Monitoring (TPM) Transmitter
  6. Connector For Spring Strut
  7. Heat Shield Between Primary Catalytic Converter And Wheel Housing
  8. Connector For Steering
  9. Connector For Brake Light Switch
  10. Connector For Brake Fluid Reservoir Level Indicator
  11. Connector For Headlights
  12. Connector For Relay Carrier
  13. Connector For Side Direction Indicator Lights
  14. Connector For Sensor For Body
  15. Connector For Additional Coolant Pump (For Position, See Description For Removal)
  16. Connector For Cooling Water Valve Unit (For Position, See Description For Removal)
  1. Loosen the wire harness -1-  from the rubber sleeve to the engine compartment -2-  as far as the center of the vehicle.

    Information 

    When cutting the front wire harness, make sure there is enough length of cable left to join to the new lines.

  2. Cut the strands of the engine compartment wire harness at the left in area -X-  .

  3. Press rubber sleeve -1-  through towards the engine compartment -A-  and pull the wire harness -2-  into the engine compartment -A-  .

  4. Pull the wire harness -2-  through from the engine compartment into the passenger compartment -A-  and fit the rubber sleeve -1-  at the correct position.

    Information 

    Select a place for the joint where there is enough space to join all the lines present.

    Do not cut the lines too short in case they have to be laid in a different position if there is insufficient space in the area of the joint.

    Information 

    The greatest care must be used in the individual work steps for stripping insulation from, crimping, and shrinking/insulating the electric lines.

    The procedure for stripping insulation from, crimping, and shrinking/insulating the electric lines must be complied with and observed. The procedures are described in detail in the Repair Kit For Cayenne Wire Harnesses NR. 155-2  .

    Crimping samples must be prepared before beginning work.

    Allocation of lines - see wiring diagram.

  5. Crimp the lines in area -X-  .

  6. Secure the wire harness -1-  from the rubber sleeve to the engine compartment -2-  as far as the center of the vehicle.
