Assembling Rear Lid

Information

Some of the repair illustrations show only one side of the vehicle.
Naturally, some steps also have to be performed on the opposite side of the vehicle as well.
These must be carried out as a mirror image of the steps shown.

Fit supports for rubber stop at the sides and screw them in by turning them 90° with a screwdriver.

Fit water drains with arrow -1- inwards.

Install adjusting elements.
1. 3.1. Fit adjusting elements -1 - 2- at the marked position.

2. 3.2. Tighten fastening screws -3- to → Tightening torque: 6 Nm (4.5 ftlb.) .
Press in brackets for wire harness -1- at the locking mechanisms -2- .

Information

The bracket for the wire harness must be replaced during assembly.

Guide in brackets for wire harness -A- and press in locking mechanism -B- .

Tighten fastening screws -2- for bracket for pneumatic spring -1- to → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.) .

Install number plate bracket if necessary.
Rivet bracket for rear spoiler -1- to the rear lid with blind rivets -2- . Hand riveting tool Nr.124-1 Pos.1
