Removing Actuating Cylinder For Rear Lid

CAUTION: Incorrect handling of actuating cylinders
  • Actuating cylinders can burst
  • Risk of eye injuries
  • Risk of bruising

→ The actuating cylinders must be in idle state in order to remove them.

→ Open the lid.

→ Secure the lid after removing the actuating cylinders to prevent it from closing accidentally.

→ Do not use force when opening the actuating cylinders due to the high internal pressure.

Information 

  1. Release electric plug connection -a-  and disconnect it.

  2. Secure the wire at the connector to make it easier to guide it in during installation.
    1. 2.1. Pull rubber sleeve out of the rear lid.
    2. 2.2. Guide out the connector.
  3. A second person should hold the rear lid to prevent it from closing accidentally.
  4. Insert a screwdriver between the actuating cylinder -2-  and safety clip -1-  .

  5. Lift up the safety clip by levering it up with the screwdriver -A-  . The safety clip remains on the actuating cylinder.
  6. Pull actuating cylinder off the ball joint -B-  .
