  1. If a new control unit has to be installed, the values and coding must be read out using the 2nd generation PIWIS Tester 9818  prior to removing the "old" control unit for rear lid. → 556855 REPLACING CONTROL UNIT FOR REAR LID .
  2. Remove lower part of rear trim panel. → 709219 REMOVING AND INSTALLING TRIM PANEL FOR TAILGATE
