Installing Wing

Information 

  1. Remove old sealant from contact surface of wing at the A-pillar.
  2. If you intend to re-use the wing, remove old sealant and old expanded sealant from the contact surface on the wing.
  3. Apply new expanded sealant -1-  on the wing.
    1. 3.1. Clean and degrease the contact surface for the expanded sealant -1-  on the wing.
    2. 3.2. Stick new expanded sealant -1-  along the cut on the wing.
    3. 3.3. Left wing: Trim projecting expanded sealant -1-  on the lower edge of the wing.

  4. Carefully fit the wing on the longitudinal member and screw in fastening screws -1, 2, 3, 4-  hand-tight.

  5. Adjust gap dimensions and offset from wing to adjacent components. → 5X00IN DIAGRAM - BODY GAP DIMENSIONS
  6. Tighten fastening screws -1-  securing wing to A-pillar. Tightening torque 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.) +/-1 Nm (+/-0.5 ftlb.)

  7. Tighten fastening screws -2-  securing top of wing to longitudinal member. Tightening torque 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.) +/-1 Nm (+/-0.5 ftlb.)

  8. Tighten fastening screws -3-  securing front wing at the side to longitudinal member. Tightening torque 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.) +/-1 Nm (+/-0.5 ftlb.)

  9. Press door entry guard -1-  down carefully and tighten fastening screws -4-  securing lower part of wing to door sill. Tightening torque 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.) +/-1 Nm (+/-0.5 ftlb.)

  10. Seal inner wing to A-pillar in the area shown using spray-on sealant.
