Installing Expansion Valve

Information

Before the expansion valve is re-installed, the O-rings of the refrigerant lines must be checked for damage and replaced if necessary .
Wet the O-rings of the refrigerant lines with refrigerant oil .

Carefully slide the expansion valve -5- onto the refrigerant lines from the evaporator. Do not tilt.

Tighten both fastening screws -6- on the expansion valve to the prescribed tightening torque. Tightening torque 5.5 Nm (4 ftlb.)
Fit refrigerant lines -4- on the expansion valve -5- and press into place. Do not tilt.

Tighten both fastening screws -3- securing refrigerant lines to the expansion valve -5- to the prescribed tightening torque. Tightening torque 12 Nm (9 ftlb.) +/-1.5 Nm (+/-1 ftlb.)
Insert water drip pan -2- and tighten fastening screws -1- to the prescribed tightening torque. Tightening torque 8 Nm (6 ftlb.)
