Installing Condenser/Evaporator Line At The Front

NOTE: Fill level too low

Risk of damage to components.

→ Do not start the engine.

→ Do not tow the vehicle.

Information

Always replace the sealing rings on the refrigerant lines.

Fit the refrigerant line in the vehicle.
Position the refrigerant lines -4- on the expansion valve -5- and press them into place. Do not tilt.

Tighten the two fastening screws -3- used to secure the refrigerant lines to the expansion valve -5- to → Tightening torque: 12 Nm (9 ftlb.)+/-1.5 Nm (+/-1 ftlb.) .
Fit water drip pan -2- and tighten fastening screws -1- to → Tightening torque: 8 Nm (6 ftlb.) .

Clip refrigerant lines into the holders in the plenum panel.

1. 5.1. Insert refrigerant line -4- into the lower parts of the holders -5, 6- .
2. 5.2. Close upper parts of holders -2, 3- (-arrows- ) and clip them in.
3. 5.3. Clip vacuum line -1- into the upper parts of the holders -2, 3- .
Insert the refrigerant lines -1, 2- together with the rubber boot -3- from above -arrow- into the bulkhead -4- .
Check that the rubber boot -3- is seated correctly.

Clip refrigerant lines -1, 2- into the holder -3- on the left wheel housing.

Position refrigerant line -3- with the holder -2- at the front and fit the fastening nut -1- .

Fit the top refrigerant line -1- on the condenser.
Check that the guide sleeve is seated correctly.

Tighten the fastening screw -2- securing the refrigerant line -1- to the condenser to → Tightening torque: 12 Nm (9 ftlb.) .

Fit the refrigerant line from the compressor to the connection point. → 874519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING COMPRESSOR/EVAPORATOR LINE
