Removing Starter

WARNING: Working on the vehicle electrical system

Risk of burns
Risk of short circuit or fire.

→ Disconnect the battery.

→ Prevent battery from reconnecting.

→ Cover the battery.

→ Remove ground terminal and cover the terminals.

→ Route electric lines without tensile strength.

→ Secure electric lines to existing lines/components.

Open the press-studs -arrow- and remove the heat protection cover on the solenoid switch.

Pull off protection cap -A- .
Screw off the fastening nut -1- and remove the line from the threaded bolt -B- .
Pull off protection cap -3- (-C- ).
Screw off the fastening nut -2- and remove the line from the threaded bolt -C- .

Unscrew the fastening screw -3- and pull line bracket away in a downward direction -A- .
Unscrew the fastening screw -4- .
Screw off the fastening nuts -5- and remove the holder -B- . To do this, turn the holder slightly if necessary.

Unscrew the fastening screw -6- on the transmission side of the starter.

Unscrew the fastening screw -7- .
Unscrew the lower fastening screw -8- on the starter.
Pull the line carefully downwards -A- and remove the starter -B- . Turn the starter if necessary.
