Removing And Installing Battery Cover

WARNING: Caustic fluids

→ Avoid contact with caustic fluid.

→ Wear personal protective gear.

→ Ensure that there is good ventilation.

→ If you do come into contact, wash off immediately with plenty of warm water and contact a doctor if necessary.

→ Do not rub the battery with a dry cloth.

Information

The battery is located in the battery box under the left front seat .
The vehicle must be supplied with external power at the jump-lead starting points so that the seat can be moved even when the battery is fully discharged . → WM 2706IN EXTERNAL POWER CONNECTION, JUMP-LEAD STARTING (ALL MODELS)

Information

Switch off all loads and remove the ignition key.

Do not disconnect the battery while the engine is running .
Disconnect and reconnect battery with extreme caution .
Do not rub the battery with a dry cloth .

When removing the carpeted floor for the first time, cut along the perforation using a carpet knife.
Unscrew screw -1- and remove air guide -2- .
Open the tension hooks -arrows- on the battery cover -3- using a suitable tool.
Remove battery cover -3- .

The battery cover -3- is installed in reverse order to removal.
Tighten screw -1- . Tightening Torque 2 Nm (1.5 ft. lb.)
