Removing Battery

WARNING: Caustic fluids
  • Danger of chemical burns

→ Avoid contact with caustic fluid.

→ Wear personal protective gear.

→ Ensure that there is good ventilation.

→ If you do come into contact, wash off immediately with plenty of warm water and contact a doctor if necessary.

WARNING: Static battery charge
  • Battery can explode
  • Electrical discharges

→ Do not rub the battery with a dry cloth.

Switch off all loads and remove the ignition key.

  1. Release and disconnect electric plug connection at the battery sensor.

  2. Risk of short circuit! First disconnect the negative cable, then the positive cable.

  3. Unscrew the fastening screw -1-  on the sheetmetal bracket and remove the battery mount.
  4. Unscrew the screw for the battery mount -2-  and remove the battery mount.
  5. Pull the vent hose -3-  off the battery.

  6. Lift the battery up and out.
