Removing Battery

Caustic fluids

→ Avoid contact with caustic fluid.
→ Wear personal protective gear.
→ Ensure that there is good ventilation.
→ If you do come into contact, wash off immediately with plenty of warm water and contact a doctor if necessary.

→ Do not rub the battery with a dry cloth.
Information
- The battery is located in the battery box under the left front seat .
- The vehicle must be supplied with external power at the jump-lead starting points so that the seat can be moved even when the battery is fully discharged . → WM 2706IN EXTERNAL POWER CONNECTION, JUMP-LEAD STARTING (ALL MODELS)
Information
Switch off all loads and remove the ignition key.
- Do not disconnect the battery while the engine is running .
- Disconnect and reconnect battery with extreme caution .
- Do not rub the battery with a dry cloth .
- Release and disconnect electric plug connection at the battery sensor.
- Risk of short circuit! First disconnect the negative cable, then the positive cable.
- Unscrew the fastening screw -1- on the sheetmetal bracket and remove the battery mount.
- Unscrew the screw for the battery mount -2- and remove the battery mount.
- Pull the vent hose -3- off the battery.
- Lift the battery up and out.
