Removing Battery

WARNING: Caustic fluids

Danger of chemical burns

→ Avoid contact with caustic fluid.

→ Wear personal protective gear.

→ Ensure that there is good ventilation.

→ If you do come into contact, wash off immediately with plenty of warm water and contact a doctor if necessary.

→ Do not rub the battery with a dry cloth.

Information

The battery is located in the battery box under the left front seat .
The vehicle must be supplied with external power at the jump-lead starting points so that the seat can be moved even when the battery is fully discharged . → WM 2706IN EXTERNAL POWER CONNECTION, JUMP-LEAD STARTING (ALL MODELS)

Information

Switch off all loads and remove the ignition key.

Do not disconnect the battery while the engine is running .
Disconnect and reconnect battery with extreme caution .
Do not rub the battery with a dry cloth .

Release and disconnect electric plug connection at the battery sensor.

Risk of short circuit! First disconnect the negative cable, then the positive cable.

Unscrew the fastening screw -1- on the sheetmetal bracket and remove the battery mount.
Unscrew the screw for the battery mount -2- and remove the battery mount.
Pull the vent hose -3- off the battery.

Lift the battery up and out.
