Installing Battery

Incorrect handling of safety bolts
- Danger of injury
- Loss of torque
→ Always use new fastening screws and nuts following removal.
→ Observe specified Tightening Torques.
→ Carry out a visual inspection of all re-used parts.
Information
- Make sure that the two ends of the vent hose are routed and inserted correctly .
- The battery is installed in reverse order to removal.
- Fit battery mount and secure with the fastening screw. Tightening Torque 23 Nm (17 ft. lb.)
- Fit sheetmetal bracket and secure with the fastening screw. Tightening Torque 8 Nm (6 ft. lb.)
- Risk of short circuit! First connect the positive cable, then the negative cable. Tighten fastening nuts. Tightening Torque 6 Nm (4.5 ft. lb.)
