  1. If a new control unit has to be installed, the values/coding must be read out using PIWIS Tester II 9818  before removing the "old" control unit. → 373055 REPLACING TRANSMISSION CONTROL UNIT .
  2. Loosen the right front seat and tilt it to the rear with lines connected. → REMOVING FRONT SEAT - section on "Removing"
  3. Remove inner door sill trim at the right. → REMOVING INNER DOOR ENTRY GUARD - section on "Removing"
