Installing Rear Cardan Shaft

The circlips on the transmission journal must always be replaced. These must be pressed on radially.
- Always replace the circlip on the transfer gear journal and rear final drive. This must be pressed on radially.
- Fit the cardan shaft with the help of a second mechanic and screw on the center bearing.
- Turn the cardan shaft to the previously made marks and fit it onto the journal by jerking it but without tilting the cardan shaft.
- Check that the cardan shaft is fitted securely by pulling on it with your hand. Then press on the shaft again in the direction of the transmission journal.
- 4.1. If the cardan shaft comes off when you pull it, the circlips will need to be replaced again.
- Further assembly is carried out in reverse order to removal.
