Assembly Overview - Cardan Shafts

  1. Front Final Drive
  2. Front Cardan Shaft
  3. Transmission With Transfer Gear
  4. Transmission End Damper
  5. Rear Cardan Shaft
  6. Rear Final Drive
  7. Tunnel Support
  8. Screw Securing Damper To Transfer Gear → Tightening Torque: 32 Nm (24 Ft. Lb.) 
  9. Screw Securing Centre Bearing To Body Replace → Initial Tightening: 20 Nm (15 Ft. Lb.) → Final Tightening: +90° 
    • Screw Securing Tunnel Support To Body → Tightening Torque: 60 Nm (44 Ft. Lb.) 
    • The cardan shaft must not be repaired.
    • Do not kink the rear cardan shaft; only store and transport it in elongated position.
    • Set rear cardan shaft with the holder down facing upwards.
    • Mark the position of all parts in relation to each other before removal. If the parts are not re-installed at the same position, this will result in too much imbalance, which could cause damage to the mount and humming noises.
