Installing Oxygen Sensor Downstream Of Catalytic Converter

Install oxygen sensors. To do this, grease thread of oxygen sensors with Optimoly Paste MF (000 043 207 07) before fitting them. Make sure that the paste does not get into the slits in the sensor body. Screw in both oxygen sensors downstream of catalytic converter -2- using a ring wrench or open-ended wrench (a/f 22) or using Open-End/Ring Wrench Nr. 96-3 or Open-End/Ring Wrench Nr. 98 . → Tightening Torque: 50 Nm (37 ft. lb.)

After installing the oxygen sensor cables, use the PIWIS Tester 9718 to check that the oxygen sensors have not been interchanged. Release the oxygen sensor cable so that the cable can turn when you unscrew or screw in the sensor. Otherwise, the Check Engine light will come on and there may be a change in the vehicle's exhaust gas behavior.
Connect oxygen sensors. Route cable for oxygen sensors, clip it in and connect cable plugs for oxygen sensors downstream of catalytic converter. → Cable plugs on oxygen sensors
