Removing Oxygen Sensor Upstream Of Catalytic Converter

NOTE: Incorrect handling of oxygen sensors

Damage to oxygen sensors
Different exhaust emission behavior

→ Do not remove the plastic cap on the thread until just prior to fitting.

→ Protect oxygen sensors from impact of any kind.

→ Do not kink or twist the cables when screwing in the sensors.

→ Do not re-use dirty or damaged components.

Information

For better access in the engine compartment, use support 9866 .

Fit support -1- instead of torque support .

The engine can be moved by turning the hexagon (a/f 17) to the left or right -arrows- .

Remove oxygen sensor -1- at the left upstream of catalytic converter.
1. 1.1. Loosen tie-wrap -arrows- and expose electric line -2- .
2. 1.2. Release and disconnect electric connector -3- .
3. 1.3. Loosen connector housing -4- from the holder -5- .
4. 1.4. Disconnect electric line -2- completely and expose it.
5. 1.5. Loosen and unscrew oxygen sensor -1- .

Remove oxygen sensor -1- at the right upstream of catalytic converter.
1. 2.1. Loosen electric line -2- from the holder -3- .
2. 2.2. Loosen tie-wrap -arrow- .
3. 2.3. Release and disconnect electric connector -4- .
4. 2.4. Loosen connector housing -5- from the holder -6- .
5. 2.5. Disconnect electric line -2- completely and expose it.
6. 2.6. Loosen and unscrew oxygen sensor -1- .
