Information

The procedure for removing and installing the lower part of the intake manifold on the left is described below. The procedure for the other side is practically identical.

  1. Remove lower part of intake manifold.
    1. 1.1. Disconnect electric plug connection -4-  on the fuel pressure sensor.
    2. 1.2. Unscrew union nut -1-  . Counter at the screw socket while doing this.
NOTE: Dirt on injection system components
      • Material damage
      • Rough-running engine
      • Bad exhaust emissions

→ Thoroughly clean connection points and adjacent areas before loosening them. If the engine is very dirty, wash it before starting disassembly work.

→ Lay removed parts on a clean surface and cover them. Do not use fibre-shedding cloths.

→ Carefully cover components or seal them if repair work will not be carried out immediately. Place rubber caps on connections. Seal intake openings with film or adhesive tape.

→ Only install clean parts. Do not take spare parts out of the packaging until just before installation.

→ Never use compressed air when the system is open. Do not move the vehicle.

    3. 1.3. Unscrew screws and nuts -arrows-  and pull off lower part of intake manifold together with the fuel distributor.
    4. 1.4. Disconnect electric plug connection -2-  on the potentiometer for the intake manifold flap and pull off the vacuum hose -3-  .
