Bleeding The Clutch System

The PIWIS Tester II 9818 instructions take precedence and in the event of a discrepancy these are the instructions that must be followed. Deviations may occur with later software versions.
Information
- When changing the hydraulic fluid, the clutch system does not have to be bled using PIWIS Tester II . → 470855 REPLACING BRAKE FLUID FOR THE CLUTCH SYSTEM (HYBRID)
- The bleeder valve does not have to be opened in order to bleed the system .
- If parts/components of the clutch system are removed or replaced, the clutch system must be bled using PIWIS Tester II and clutch adaptation must be performed using PIWIS Tester II .
- Brake filling and bleeding device ATE WE 1096 must be connected.
- Fill the brake hydraulic system reservoir to above the MAX marking.
- PIWIS Tester II 9818
must then be connected and switched on.
- 3.1. [Select DIAGNOSTICS].
- 3.2. Select vehicle model.
- 3.3. [Digital engine electronics (DME)] must now be selected. Then select [MAINTENANCE/REPAIRS] and press [F12] to confirm.
- 3.4. You now have the option of creating a Vehicle Analysis Log (VAL).
- 3.5. [CLUTCH ACTUATOR AND DECOUPLER] must now be selected. Then press [F12] to confirm.
- 3.6. Read instructions relating to HV batteries!
- 3.7. [Bleed hydraulic system] must now be selected. Then press [F12] to confirm.
- If parts of the hydraulic system were replaced, the "Hydraulic system air/leak test" must be carried out. PIWIS Tester II 9818
must be connected and switched on until it is ready for operation.
- 4.1. [Select DIAGNOSTICS].
- 4.2. Select vehicle model.
- 4.3. [DME] must now be selected. Then select [MAINTENANCE/REPAIRS] and press [F12] to confirm.
- 4.4. You now have the option of creating a Vehicle Analysis Log (VAL).
- 4.5. [CLUTCH ACTUATOR AND DECOUPLER] must now be selected. Then press [F12] to confirm.
- 4.6. Read instructions relating to HV batteries!
- 4.7. [Check hydraulic system for air/leaks] must now be selected. Then press [F12] to confirm.
- Perform clutch adaptation.
PIWIS Tester II 9818 must be connected and switched on until it is ready for operation.
- 5.1. [Select DIAGNOSTICS].
- 5.2. Select vehicle model.
- 5.3. [DME] must now be selected. Then select [MAINTENANCE/REPAIRS] and press [F12] to confirm.
- 5.4. You now have the option of creating a Vehicle Analysis Log (VAL).
- 5.5. [CLUTCH ACTUATOR AND DECOUPLER] must now be selected. Then press [F12] to confirm.
- 5.6. Read instructions relating to HV batteries!
- 5.7. [Clutch adaptation] must be selected. Then press [F12] to confirm.
- Fill the brake hydraulic system reservoir to the MAX marking.
