Installing Sealing Ring For Crankshaft (On Transmission Side)

Information

Sealing rings become damaged as a result of improper fitting. Do not oil sealing rings on the running surface and do not pull sealing rings off the plastic sleeve.

Radial Shaft Seal (Use Protection Cap For Radial Shaft Seal For Fitting; Only Fit When Crankcase Is Screwed On)

Connect the sealing ring and sleeve to the tool Spacer 9609/2 . → Fitting sealing ring

Position the centering device Spacer 9609/2 on the crankshaft flange. Pay attention to the centering pin when doing this. Then tighten the two fastening screws to 23 Nm (17 ft. lb.). → Centering tool

Position the retracting bell Pressure Piece 9609/1 and tighten the central screw (a/f 19) to 25 Nm (19 ft. lb.). → Retracting bell

Loosen the retracting bell and screw it down.
Loosen the two fastening screws on the centering device and remove the tool. Remove sleeve from the tool.
