Removing Front Coolant Pipe

WARNING: Hot fluid
  • Danger of scalding

→ Let the fluid cool down.

→ Wear personal protective gear.

  1. Drain off coolant for high-temperature cooling system. → 193817 DRAINING AND FILLING COOLANT (INCLUDES BLEEDING) 
  2. Remove poly-V-belt for compressor and poly-V-belt. → 137819 REMOVING AND INSTALLING DRIVE BELT
  3. Remove front left coolant pipes. → 196120 REMOVING AND INSTALLING COOLANT PIPES 
  4. Loosen screws for poly-V-belt pulley for the coolant pump using PIN WRENCH 3212  as a counter-hold tool.

    Unscrew screws and remove poly-V-belt pulley.

  5. Remove front coolant pipe.
    1. 5.1. Disconnect electric plug connection -3-  on the coolant temperature sensor.
    2. 5.2. Remove coolant hoses -1, 4-  by lifting up the retaining clips.
    3. 5.3. Remove upper coolant hose by loosening the hose clamp -2-  .
    4. 5.4. Loosen hose clamp -5-  .
    5. 5.5. Unscrew screws -arrows-  and remove the front coolant pipe.
