Checking For Coolant Leaks (Low-Temperature Cooling System)

WARNING: Hot fluid
  • Danger of scalding

→ Let the fluid cool down.

→ Wear personal protective gear.

  1. Open the cap on the reservoir.
  2. Cooling system tester WE 1069  must be attached to the coolant reservoir.
  3. Build up overpressure of approx. 1.0 bar using the hand pump on the cooling system tester.
  4. If this pressure is not maintained, find the leak and correct the problem.
  5. Check pressure relief valve in the cap  .
    1. 5.1. Cooling system tester WE 1069  must be attached to the cap.
    2. 5.2. Build up overpressure using the hand vacuum pump on the cooling system tester.
    3. 5.3. The pressure relief valve must open at an overpressure of 1.4... 1.6 bar  .
  6. Replace the cap if the pressure relief valve does not open as described.
