Reading Out Fault Memory

→ Prior to disconnecting the control unit, switch off ignition and remove ignition key.

→ Ensure that the power supply is not interrupted during programming.

→ Connect a battery charger with a current rating of at least → Nominal value: 40 A to the vehicle battery.

PIWIS Tester II 9818 must be connected to the vehicle. Then start the System Tester. Switch on ignition .

Select vehicle type.
When the overview of control units is displayed, press [F7] to continue.
Select the menu Read out all fault memories and erase them if necessary and press [F12] to continue.
Proceed in accordance with the instructions on the Tester.
If faults are present, analyse the faults, create a VAL and work through faults in accordance with the faultfinding strategy Guided Fault Finding if necessary.
