Subsequent Work

  1. Fit joint flange and cable plug for oil pressure control valve.
  2. Fit ATF lines on the oil guide housing. → 386219 REMOVING AND INSTALLING LINE FOR ATF COOLING
  3. Fit the oil pan. → 175019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING OIL PAN 
  4. Fit the oil level sensor, plug in electric plug connection for the oil level sensor and route the cable.
  5. On turbo engines, fit the two side oil extraction lines -5-  and (bottom illustration) -8-  on the oil guide housing.
    1. Vent line for turbocharger, cylinders 1 to 4; vent line to oil extraction line for turbocharger
    2. Oil feed line for turbocharger, cylinders 1 to 4; oil feed line for turbocharger to connection piece
    3. Connection piece
    4. Sealing ring
    5. Oil extraction line
    6. Screw, M6 x 12
    7. Screw, M6 x 16
    8. Seal for turbocharger, cylinders 1 to 4

    1. Oil feed line for turbocharger, cylinders 5 to 8
    2. M6 nut
    3. Holding clamp
    4. Vent line for turbocharger, cylinders 5 to 8
    5. Holding clamp
    6. Screw, M6 x 12; holder for turbocharger oil feed line to lower part of crankcase; holding clamp for oil feed line to holder
    7. Screw, M6 x 16
    8. Oil extraction line
    9. Seal for turbocharger, cylinders 5 to 8
    10. Sealing ring

  6. Install engine carrier. → INSTALLING ENGINE CARRIER

  7. For PDCC:  Fit fastening nuts -1-  securing front wire assembly -2-  to the oil pan.

  8. Connect coolant supply line to the oil/water heat exchanger. Connect the coolant hoses to the oil/water heat exchanger at the same time. Remove hose clamps.
  9. Clip in coolant hoses on the oil/water heat exchanger. → Coolant return line

  10. Fit vibration balancer. → INSTALLING VIBRATION DAMPER
  11. Install engine guard. → INSTALLING ENGINE GUARD
  12. Fill in engine oil. For details, see → 170117 CHANGING ENGINE OIL AND OIL FILTER .
  13. Bleed and fill the cooling system. → 193817 DRAINING AND FILLING COOLANT (INCLUDES BLEEDING)
  14. Align the front axle and bleed all open systems.
  15. Carry out a check. After test-driving the vehicle, check the engine for leaks. Then check the oil level.
