Removing Oil/Water Heat Exchanger (Oil Cooler) On DFI Engines

WARNING:
Danger of burns from hot engine oil!
→ Allow engine to cool down.
→ Wear personal protective gear (e.g. safety goggles, gloves).
- Remove two fastening nuts for the hose holder and press the holder aside -arrows-
.
Information
- When opening the oil/water heat exchanger, collect emerging fuel (engine oil and coolant) with a pan and cloth .
- Remove the two coolant hoses from the oil/water heat exchanger -arrow- .
- Grip the oil cooler cover at the hexagon with a suitable tool and loosen carefully. Take oil cooler cover (banjo bolt) out of the oil/water heat exchanger and remove together with the oil/water heat exchanger.
- Observe installation position of both sealing rings. Sealing rings must be replaced.
- Clean sealing faces.
