Performing Measurement 8
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2018 Porsche Cayenne, 2017 Porsche Cayenne, 2016 Porsche Cayenne, 2015 Porsche Cayenne, and 2014 Porsche Cayenne. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Preliminary work for measurement 8:
- -1- = cable shoe on high-voltage line from PE to HV battery
- -2- = 2 = HV connection from PE to air-conditioning compressor
- -3- = 3-phase wiring to electric machine
- Unscrew and remove both cable shoes for high-voltage line to the high-voltage battery from the power electronics unit. → 279119 REMOVING AND INSTALLING POWER ELECTRONICS FOR HIGH-VOLTAGE SYSTEM
Measurement 8.1:
- Hold both measuring tips of the insulation tester WE 1379 at each terminal shoe -1- and at the insulation -2- on both high-voltage lines from the power electronics to the high-voltage battery.
- Perform measurement 8.1.
- 3.1. Setpoint value of both lines: > 550 MOhm
Measurement 8.2:
- Connect high-voltage test adapter High-voltage test adapter HVA 280 WE 1585 to the power electronics unit (high-voltage connection for air-conditioning compressor). Leave the second connection on the test adapter open.
- Perform measurement 8.2.
- 5.1. Setpoint value: > 2.4 MOhm
- Evaluate the test results
.
- 6.1. If the specified measured values from measurement 8.1 are not within the tolerance range and the specified measured values from measurement 8.2 are within the tolerance range:

- 6.1.2. Replace high-voltage line from power electronics to high-voltage battery following consultation with Technical Support. → Installing High-Voltage Line From Battery To Power Electronics
- 6.2. If the specified measured values from measurement 8.2 are not within the tolerance range and the specified measured values from measurement 8.1 are within the tolerance range, continue with measurement 8 .
- 6.3. The measured values from both measurements are not within
the tolerance range.
- 6.3.1. Repeat the measurements.
- 6.3.2. Check measuring equipment and repeat the measurements.
- 6.3.3. Contact Technical Support.
- 6.4. The measured values from both measurements are within
the tolerance range.
- 6.4.1. Repeat the measurements.
- 6.4.2. Check measuring equipment and repeat the measurements.
- 6.4.3. Contact Technical Support.
- 6.1. If the specified measured values from measurement 8.1 are not within the tolerance range and the specified measured values from measurement 8.2 are within the tolerance range:
