Performing Measurement 7

Preliminary work for measurement 7:

  1. -1-  = cable shoe on high-voltage line from PE to HV battery
  2. -2-  = 2 = HV connection from PE to air-conditioning compressor
  3. -3-  = 3-phase wiring to electric machine
  1. Disconnect high-voltage line from high-voltage air-conditioning compressor. → 279319 REMOVING AND INSTALLING HIGH-VOLTAGE LINE FROM POWER ELECTRONICS TO AIR-CONDITIONING COMPRESSOR
  2. Remove front wheel housing liner trim panel at the left. → 505619 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER
  3. Remove front underbody panelling. → 108019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING ENGINE GUARD

    Measurement 7.1:

  4. Connect high-voltage test adapter High-voltage test adapter HVA 280 WE 1585  to high-voltage connector for high-voltage line for high-voltage air-conditioning compressor. Leave the second connection on the test adapter open.

  5. Perform measurement 6.2.
    1. 5.1. Setpoint value: > 550 MOhm

  6. Connect high-voltage test adapter VAS 6558/1-3 from Hybrid test adapter set WE 1378  to the high-voltage air-conditioning compressor.

  7. Perform measurement 6.2.
    1. 7.1. Setpoint value: > 550 MOhm 
  8. Evaluate the test results  .
    1. 8.1. If the specified measured values from measurement 7.1 are not within the tolerance range and the specified measured values from measurement 7.2 are within the tolerance range:
      1. 8.1.1. Insulation fault in high-voltage line from power electronics to air-conditioning compressor.
      2. 8.1.2. Replace high-voltage line from power electronics to air-conditioning compressor following consultation with Technical Support. → 279319 REMOVING AND INSTALLING HIGH-VOLTAGE LINE FROM POWER ELECTRONICS TO AIR-CONDITIONING COMPRESSOR
    2. 8.2. If the specified measured values from measurement 7.2 are not within the tolerance range and the specified measured values from measurement 7.1 are within the tolerance range:
      1. 8.2.1. Insulation fault in high-voltage air-conditioning compressor.
      2. 8.2.2. Replace high-voltage air-conditioning compressor following consultation with Technical Support. → Installing Electric Air-Conditioning Compressor
    3. 8.3. The measured values from both measurements are not within  the tolerance range.
      1. 8.3.1. Repeat the measurements.
      2. 8.3.2. Check measuring equipment and repeat the measurements.
      3. 8.3.3. Contact Technical Support.
    4. 8.4. The measured values from both measurements are within  the tolerance range.
      1. 8.4.1. Repeat the measurements.
      2. 8.4.2. Check measuring equipment and repeat the measurements.
      3. 8.4.3. Contact Technical Support.
