Removing A-Pillar Trim Panel

Information

To reduce the unclipping forces and thereby the risk of damage during removal, the removal steps must be carried out at the accessible connection points using a suitable tool.

CAUTION:

Risk of damage to electric wires and head airbag.

→ When unclipping the trim panel using a tool, make sure not to damage the electric wires lying behind it and the head airbag.

Carefully pull out A-pillar trim panel at the top of the door aperture -arrow- .

Turn the locking mechanism -1- at the front by 90° using pointed-nose pliers and guide it out at the trim panel -2- .

Detach A-pillar trim panel from the locking mechanisms -arrow- .

Pull off A-pillar trim panel in an upward direction -arrow- .

Release upper locking mechanism -1- using a screwdriver -A- and pull it out -B- .
