Replacing Drive Belt

1. Drive Belt
2. Generator Pulley
3. Deflection Roller
4. Air-Conditioning Compressor Pulley
5. Crankshaft Vibration Damper
6. Tensioning Roller For Belt Tensioner
7. Coolant Pump Pulley

1. Relieve the drive belt.
   1. 1.1. Fit a suitable tool to the hexagon -1-  of the carrier for tension roller, screw in clockwise as far as it will go -arrow-  and hold at this position.

   2. 1.2. Remove drive belt from the pulley on the generator.
   3. 1.3. Carefully allow carrier for tension roller to turn back to its original position.
2. Cut and remove drive belt.
3. Unscrew fastening screw -1-  for spacer sleeve while countering at the special screw -arrow-  and remove spacer sleeve -2-  .

   Use special tool Socket-Wrench Insert 9836/1 -1- for easier access!

   Information 

   • Check for foreign objects in the grooves of the pulley  .
4. Check pulleys for damage.
5. Guide new drive belt -1-  between the engine carrier and crankshaft vibration damper -arrow-  .

6. Fit the drive belt on the pulleys and align along the grooves of the pulleys (first release pulley for the generator).
7. Fit a suitable tool to the hexagon -1-  of the carrier for tension roller, screw in clockwise as far as it will go -arrow-  and hold at this position.

8. Fit drive belt on the pulley for the generator and align along the grooves on the pulley.
9. Carefully allow carrier for tension roller to turn back into its original position, thereby tightening the drive belt.
10. Check that the drive belt is seated and tensioned correctly.
11. Insert spacer sleeve and tighten fastening screw.
12. Tighten fastening screw to Tightening Torque 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.)  , while countering at the special screw.

    Use special tool Socket-Wrench Insert 9836/1 -1- for easier access!
