Disassembling Crankshaft
NOTE:
Dirt and contamination
- Risk of damage to units or components
→ Protect components from dirt and contamination.
→ Clean or replace dirty components.
Components:
- Crankshaft
- Dowel Pin For Flywheel - Replace If Damaged
- Dowel Pin For Vibration Damper - Replace If Damaged
- Crankshaft Sealing Ring On Belt Side
- Crankshaft Sealing Ring On Flywheel Side
- Connecting Rod
- Connecting Rod Bush
- Connecting Rod Bolt - Replace
- Connecting-Rod Bearing
- Main Bearing - Smooth Bearing
- Main Bearing - Partial-Groove Bearing
- Supporting Mount
- Fit special tool Retainer Plate P209A
on the crankshaft flange (flywheel side) using two flywheel screws.
Caution: fine thread!
- 1.1. Clamp crankshaft -1- with retainer plate -2- in a vice.
- Loosen and unscrew connecting rod bolts for connecting rods for cylinders 1-3 using a multiple-tooth socket-wrench insert.
- 2.1. Remove connecting rod cap and connecting rod, remove bearing shells and store the parts together.
- 2.2. Replace connecting rod bolts.
- Clean the crankshaft and connecting rods.
