Installing Windscreen
CAUTION:
Danger of material damage if specified curing time of adhesive is not observed! In order to ensure that the bonded joint is sufficiently strong, the following conditions must be adhered to:
- The vehicle must not be used until the curing time has elapsed.
- Curing time: 2 hours
- Temperature: at least 10 °C
- Fixing time: approx. 1 hour
Information
- The adhesive has an open time of -15 min- , which means that the adhesive must be applied and the component affixed within this period of time .
- To ensure that the substance is completely mixed, apply a 30-mm long bead of fresh adhesive to a piece of cardboard before processing .

- Check stop bits .
- Replace damaged or missing stop bits .

2-component window bonding agent set
Information
- When applying the adhesive, it is essential to ensure that the adhesive bead overlaps by approx. 30 mm at the beginning and at the end .
- Apply adhesive to the windscreen using double cartridge gun VAS 5237 WE 1278
.
- 2.1. Using the bonding gun, apply 2-component adhesive to the windscreen along the preliminary layer or on the primer as a triangular bead measuring -X- → Application depth: 15 mm
Information
- Two people are needed in order to insert, position and secure the windscreen .
- Insert the windscreen into the body.
- 3.1. Affix suction cups to the windscreen.
- 3.2. Guide the windscreen into the window aperture.
- 3.3. Position the windscreen on the lower edge -Arrow A- and fit it -Arrow B- .
- Adjust windscreen joint measurement.
- 4.1. Adjust the size of the gap -X- by moving the windscreen. → Gap dimension: 3.0 mm
- 4.2. Remove suction cups.
- 4.3. Secure the windscreen with adhesive tape -1- to prevent it from slipping.
- Clean the fields of vision.
- 5.1. Remove any adhesive that has oozed out immediately and clean the affected fields of vision using cleaning agent.
