Preliminary Work

  1. If you are replacing the PDK transmission control unit, the values and coding must be read out using PIWIS Tester II 9818  before removing the faulty PDK transmission control unit. → 373055 REPLACING PDK TRANSMISSION CONTROL UNIT 
  2. Disconnect battery ground strap. → 2X00IN WORK INSTRUCTIONS AFTER DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY
  3. Remove rear seat cushions. → 745719 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR SEAT CUSHION
  4. Remove trim panel for seat well. → 702919 REMOVING AND INSTALLING TRIM PANEL FOR SEAT WELL
  5. Press the carpet at the rear right aside in the heel plate area.
