Installing Parking-Brake Lever

  1. Install parking-brake lever -1-  . Use new fastening nuts -4-  and tighten them to 23 Nm (17 ftlb.).
  2. Engage brake cable -5-  . Connect plug to switch -3-  .

  3. Remove lock pin on mounting saddle if necessary (only fitted on new parking-brake levers/used to prevent automatic readjustment of the parking-brake cable).
  4. Tighten and loosen the parking-brake lever a number of times (due to automatic readjustment of the parking-brake cable). Then check the free play of the parking-brake lever. If there is too much free play, adjust the parking-brake shoes.
