Installing Upper Trailing Arm (Steel Springs)
Information
- All screws and bolts on the axle must be tightened in vehicle position. Vehicle position means: vehicle resting on its wheels, or the wheel suspension is lifted with a universal jack . -Dimension X from lower edge of wing to center of axle corresponds to vehicle position. For the current height values, please refer to the adjustment values for suspension alignment → 4495TW ADJUSTMENT VALUES FOR SUSPENSION ALIGNMENT .
- Visually inspect all parts .
- Replace self-locking nuts .
- Replace all expansion screws (screws fitted using torque angle tightening procedure) .
- Use correct tightening torques and torque angle . → 4X00IN TIGHTENING TORQUES FOR FRONT AXLE
Information
- Always check the installation dimension when installing the upper axle support .
The dimension is measured as follows:
- Centre of ball joint (upper side)
- To the lower double panel (panel closest to the control arm)
- Fit axle support -2-
and screw in fastening screws -1-
. → 4X00IN TIGHTENING TORQUES FOR FRONT AXLE
The ball joint pin must be pointing downwards.
- Always check that the upper axle support is fitted in installation position.
Installation position dimension -X- : → Length: 118.5 mm+/-6 mm
- Upper side of ball joint -1-
- Double panel -2-
- Fit level sensor holder on upper axle support. → Installing Front Level Sensor
- Clip in ABS wire harness -1- at the body -A- .
